Portreath Cornwall 31st August - 1st September 2012

This is a great opportunity for kids to compete at a national level with clubs from all over the U.K.

The competition takes place over 2 full days.

It includes events such as:

Beach Sprints

Long distance beach run

Swim

Wade

Boards

Beach flags

Various relays

Last year a small group of Southbourne Nippers competed.  They and their families had a great time.  All the children who competed were presented with medals at a grand ceremony on the beach (great for showing off in school!!).  Photos of the event can be seen on our website. This year we are hoping to compete with a larger team. All Nippers over the age of 8 years can compete. We encourage participation by all our young members regardless of ability. They do not have to be great swimmers as there are plenty of beach events. Competition training will be incorporated into the beach sessions during the summer.

Accommodation

St Ives Bay Holiday Park has availability. They can do a Wednesday to Wednesday booking. They have chalets, static homes and camping facilities. The site has an indoor swimming pool, restaurants, bar and entertainment. All details available on their website:  www.stivesbay.co.uk

You are of course welcome to make your own arrangements, however I would advice early booking as we struggled to get accommodation last year!
