Patrolling

As a voluntary Surf Lifesaving Club, we patrol the beach at Southbourne on the Easter Weekend, & on weekends and bank holidays between May and October.

We carry out continuous training to help toward members gaining extra lifesaving qualifications. You don’t need to come down for the entire day, even a couple of hours will help towards keeping our beaches safe.

DUE TO NEW GUIDELINES FROM SLSGB

THE STATEMENT BELOW HAS NOW BEEN ADDED TO THIS PAGE.

ONLY members who are 14 plus & who have gained their Lifesavers, Lifeguards or 1st Responder exams are eligible to patrol. Any over 18's have to have a current DBS check  & had 2 current character references returned.

When we patrol:

Southbourne Beach, St Catherine’s Path @ Bistro on the Beach

Saturday’s           :   9am-6pm

Sunday’s             :   9am-6pm

Bank Holidays     :   9am-5pm

We require at least 16 hours of allocated duties on the rota for those who have taken their exams last year.

There is a prize awarded at the "End Of Season Dinner" for the Junior & Senior who has logged the most Patrolling hours for the season
